A Day in Zürich .
A brief sidestep en route between Paris and Italy. We stayed in Zürich for two nights and one full day and enjoyed a beautiful walk around the cobbled streets of the District 1 of Altstadt, took a cruise around Lake Zürich, and enjoyed Swiss delights.
We caught an early TGV out of Paris and arrived in Zürich at around 13:00. We stayed at the boutique hotel, Hotel Wellenberg right off of the main square and within steps of everything worth seeing. We visited Confiserie Sprüngli, where we purchased a small gift for my parents and subsequently ate the whole box of chocolates on the broke-down train in Italy (no bar cart = chocolate for breakfast and lunch). We enjoyed outdoor seating on a warm September's eve at Zeughauskeller restaurant.
As anyone will say, Switzerland is the safest, cleanest, and priciest place to visit, but well worth the money every time.
