When To Photograph .

Outside of newborn (first two weeks), high school seniors (typically the summer / fall before senior year), and weddings, the most magical ages to photograph are 18 months to 7 years.

I often photograph children a bit younger as long they're sitting unsupported and a bit older as long as they are game for joining me in a world of wonder.

While many photographers run for the hills, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE (LOVE! LOVE!) photographing toddlers. And I know what you're thinking. Don't worry, I've worked with THOUSANDS of children and I've seen some epic toddler tantrums. Given your trust and the opportunity, I promise to connect with and capture your child beautifully.

I promise I will get the shot.

Newborn sessions are almost always in-studio and may take place any time of the day. Most newborns do best in the morning.

Natural light outdoor sessions almost always begin 2 hours before sunset time to make use of golden "magic hour" light.

I photograph year-round even here in Michigan and love when clients are up for whimsical puddle jumping or an enchanted winter scene.
